Obit. Mrs. Christie M. Forbes, Mary Deachman, was born the daughter of Mr. & Mrs.
William Deachman. She leaves a sister Mrs. Richard McDonald, of Perth; a brother,
Charles, of Lanark; and a half-sister, Agnes, of Lanark Twp. Besides her husband there
are her children, Florence, at home; Carrie, in Montreal and Archie, in Toronto. Two
daughters, Marjorie and Jean died of influenza in 1918.
She was buried after Apr. 7, 1936 in Lanark (Lanark Village Cemetery)

Profile: Christopher McKay Forbes, Warden of Lanark County. Born in Glasgow, Lanarkshire,
Scotland, October 31st, 1870, the son of the late John Forbes and his wife Catherine Macrae.
As a youngster, he went to sea, and saw service on board the old HMS 'Forester' traveling as far as Austrlia. At the age of 13 years he came to Canada alone and resided with his uncle David Forbes, of Dalhousie. He first worked for Peter McLaren in the lumber business and in 1895
went to work to T. B. Caldwell. In 1893, he married Miss Mary Deachman, daughter of
Mr. & Mrs. John Deachman. Their children are; Marjorie, Florence, Carrie, Jean and Archie.
One son died in infancy.
He was buried in Lanark Cnty. (Lanark Village Cemetery).
