Almonte, Tues. Jan. 15th., Maynard James, aged 21 years. A barber by trade, he was
the son of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas James, of Almonte. Among several brothers & sisters
one is mentioned, Mr. W. James, also a barber.
Burial in St. Paul's Cemrtery, Almonte.
DEATH THE LANARK ERA Wed. Jan. 1st., 1936
Almonte, Dec. 23rd., 1935, Mrs. Thomas James, aged 76 years. Jane Rainy Deachman was
born near Lanark Village, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. John Deachman. Moving to
Almonte when young, she married the late Thos. James nearly 51 years ago. She leaves
four sons and one daughter; Stanley, of Carleton Place; Percy, of Finch; Winnard B. and
Oswald, of Almonte and Annie (Mrs. Jas. Brennan) of Vancouver. Two sons and two
daughters predeceased her; Maynard, Clifford, Effie (Mrs. W. E. Scott), of Almonte and
Ruby (Mrs. John Eck), of Toronto. John Deachman, of Lanark is a brother and Isaac
Deachman, of Almonte, a half-brother, and Mrs. John Kerr, of Crystal City, Man., a half-sister.
Burial in the Auld Kirk Cemetery. NB. As a footnote, her daughter, Mrs. Eck, was killed in
a motor accident near Kingston while on route to see her mother during what was to be
her final illness. This happened about a month prior to her death.
