JOHN BRYDGES LIVING IN RAMDAY TOWNSHIP

John Brydges and Margaret Bridget, both of the Township of Ramsay, were married by the Rev. Dr.
Boswell, incumbent of the Mission of Carleton Place, July 2, 1939.
A Bridget family owned 100 acres across the road from what we know as the Ross Craig farm. This
John Brydges and family eventually moved to Bagot Township in Renfrew County. His first son was
called Robert and became the Robert Sr., of the Renfrew County Families. His obituary, 1922, states
"The late Mr. Brydges was born in Almonte, but moved to Ashdad when a boy."
A later Robert of this line visited my (Earl) sister Muriel Brydges (More) in Almonte a few years ago. He
was trying to establish what the family was between the Renfrew and the Almonte Brydges families.
He was quite elderly at the time. They were unable to come to any conclusions.
I (Earl) suspect that the connection was somehow between our Robert Sr. and the John who moved
from Almonte to Renfrew.
