Andrew Bain, aged 69 years

He was the son (should be grandson) of Alexander Bain of Greenock, Scotland who, a hundred

years ago, came to Canada with his family and settled on the Bathurst Line.   Of his brothers

two survive; John of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Robert of Bowmanville. His sister Margaret

(Mrs. Geo. Simpson); Sarah (Mrs. David McQuatt.   A son was drowned at age 9 years, while

skating.   They adopted two children; Gertrude Stone, at home and Joseph Jones of Fruitland

near Hamilton

Burial in the Highland Line Cemetery.
