A DYING FATHER'S ADVICE TO HIS CHILDREN
1st. Dear Children---Make religion your first and earley choice, search the scriptures and judge
for yourselves, there you will find Jehovah exhibited as God of Love, and Jesus as the redeemer
of a sinful world.
2nd---Make it your constant study to be punctual in attending the ordinances, especially where the
Deity of the Saviour is maintained, for, without this, the prospect of a blessed immertality must
be gloomy.
3rd.---Give yourself to prayer, for it is by this the followers of the Lamb are supported under the trials of life and enjoy a happy prospect of the heavenly Jerusalem.
4th.---Never adopt upon any account that mean shift of false lying. Remember that God has
declared himself to be the God of Truth, for his attributes are founded on truth.
5th.---These injunctions, My Dear Children, you will remember I have often repeated in your
learning, I therefore hope you shall practice them through life. "Do unto others as ye would
others should do to you."
6th.---Love one another and always entertain a humble opinion of yourselves, for, humility is the
genuine ornaments of the children of God.
I have no more to say. I commend you to the God of Love and to the Saviour of a sinful world,
"Remember that his yoke is easy and his burden is light." Be sure to live well and you shall
die happy. May we all meet in those Mansions which Christ hath prepared for his followers,
"That where he is, there they may be also."
Your Dying Father,
WILLIAM TAYLOR.
